Asset Allocation
I’ve read enough to be confident in the strategy of buying dividend paying and to recommend the strategy for your consideration. I am, however, not nearly confident to recommend specific investments for others.
I am willing to suggest you consider asset allocation carefully and recommend that you diversify your stock portfolio. What does that mean? Simple—just don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Of course that means don’t allocate too much to one stock, but it also means don’t put too much in one industry. So, who should you turn to for specific suggestions?
Well, the financial press is full of related articles (see some here). There are some good web sites related to dividend paying stocks. Finally, you may want to look at a financial newsletter or two. I’ve gotten some good ideas from some of them, and on the occasions when I wasn’t satisfied, obtaining a refund was never a problem.
